Abstract

IgenSabers: How I used a Network Science Approach to Win the 2017 Collegiate Fencing Championships (presented by Tim Robinson)

Tim introduces a novel approach to the prioritization of resources along a network of competitive fencing teams. Or does he just go over the schedule for the remainder of the quarter? After all, it is the first of April.

Building networked robots to measure terrestrial CO2 levels (presented by Elizabeth Forbes, EEMB)

Elizabeth highlights her research in Ecology, touching on how that work relates to the IGERT. She also discusses her work at the Mpala Research Center in Kenya and the network of robots she installed to measure CO2 levels in the tropical region. The robots were funded in part through the NSF's Competitive Incentive Innovation Fund.
