Abstract

Network Science Research at Multiple Scales (presented by Alex Jones, CS)

Computer Science trainee Alex Jones will present some of his relevant research projects, including work on what he calls "many to one upload/downloads," where a network science approach can be used to address privacy issues when configuring a network. He will also discuss a project on organization scale and committee formation.

Research Overview (presented by Pedro Cisneros, ECE)

Electrical and Computer Engineering trainee Pedro Cisneros will discuss his research projects. These include investigations into how influence and homophily affect balance in dynamic social networks, how opinions in signed social networks become polarized, and a game-theoretic approach to dynamic balance in signed networks.
