IGERT Trainee Vania Wang (Geography) will be the first UCSB student accepted to the University of California Global Health Institute (UCGHI) GloCal Health Fellowship program. The fellowship provides support for Vania to spend a year in Africa, where she will conduct novel research on mapping and human networks. The results of her research could improve the accessibility of health care in developing areas.
We will miss Vania while she is abroad, but this is an absolutely amazing opportunity for research and training. Congratulations, both to her and to her advisor, Dr. Susan Cassels!
